ESP Computer Services is excited to offer generic bill and renewal stock. We’ve taken a slightly different tack from other fulfillment houses and instead of having a single generic package we’ve come up with a compromise that will offer the benefits of generic stock, yet still present a significantly different look to the subscriber with each effort. The idea is to avoid having the subscriber recognize (and ignore) additional efforts. If all the efforts have the same look, the subscriber may think they’ve seen it before and just discard. Hopefully this solution will keep package open rates high and not suffer any declines in response rates compared to what you get with a custom package. Our solution is to offer a different package and outer envelope each month. The difference is that the color of the form and the message on the outer envelope would vary from month to month. The package would be used for all efforts that get selected that month. As you can see in the table at the bottom of the page, the outer envelope will be different if the package is for a bill or renewal. The outer envelopes must be different because of postage requirements, but it will also allow us to create different messaging on renewal outers and bill outer envelopes. The same color package would be used for all efforts, but the message showing through the window is customizable and the text printed on the form is customizable. You can view samples online at https://www.pubservice.com/forms.html. So while the color of the form and the envelope, and the text on the outer envelope will be the same for all efforts in a month, the text and the message displayed in the window can be variable by effort. You’ll be able to utilize logos and of course variable text by effort. This will allow us to combine efforts together in one run and gain efficiencies in the lettershop by simplifying inventory, job setup, speeding up print-to-post time, and also help qualify for postal discounts. Most importantly for our clients, it will help us keep costs down.
