JOB SUMMARY:
The Circulation Director manages the sales and distribution of San Diego Magazine, San Diego At Home and Exquisite Weddings, overseeing all circulation functions, including subscriptions, single copy sales, circulation sales and marketing, direct mail subscription campaigns, retention, customer service and billing.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Subscriber acquisition, retention and loyalty
• Create & develop direct mail and promotional campaigns
• Manage ABC auditing process
• Develop and manage community partnerships
• Analyze data
• Manage newsstand sales and continually develop new strategies for increasing single copy sales
• Form retail relationships
• Update the advertising sales team as to changes in circulation in the industry and changes to our own numbers
  

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• 3-5 years experience in circulation or consumer marketing
• Proven experience managing people and processes
• General understanding of circulation auditing rules and third party sales regulations
• Computer proficiency, including a working knowledge of Word, Excel and Power Point
• Experience assessing market trends and making adjustments rapidly
• Excellent managerial, leadership, interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills
• Professional, results orientated, self motivated, ambitious, and a team player with the ability to attain goals.
• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related area

This Audience Marketing Manager is responsible for all standard subscription marketing for new acquisitions, renewal and billing programs from creative and copy development to execution and analysis. This position collaborates with the Audience Marketing Manager – Business Specialist in determining goals, reviewing response analysis, list sourcing, testing strategies, budgeting and scheduling.

BBM is looking for a circulation professional specializing in the business, auditing and analytical side of developing audiences for our media products.

This Audience Marketing Manager will serve as the watch-dog for the publications’ audience goals, budget and reporting. This position will:

• work with publisher to determine demographic and auditing targets
• monitor progress of goals and targets
• develop and manage the annual budgets
• marketing campaign response analysis
• liaison for fulfillment vendor and auditing bureau (BPA)
• collaborate with marketing to develop testing and promotion recommendations based on response analysis
• maintain competitive analysis

Candidates must have expert analytical skills, working knowledge of databases, marketing and circulation metrics, circulation auditing, budget management and managing outside vendor experience.
